I was reading an article that the new version of FireFox will include a new JavaScript engine called TraceMonkey which is claimed to be twice as fast as the current version. Has anyone seen any noticeable improvements in speed when using an ExtJs intensive website? Just going back and forth between FireFox 3 and Google Chrome, I have been very impressed by the speed of Google Chrome. Especially in redrawing operations like screen resizing. In Chrome, resizing is instantaneous whereas FireFox has a noticable lag in redraw often times. Too bad Chrome isn't used by many people. I'm just hoping that the new FireFox JavaScript engine makes it as fast as Chrome.

There are a few threads already about this.

I've found Chrome faster for most things. Like you say, resizing is very quick on Chrome. But I find that Chrome (well, Webkit) has issues with slow scrolling, even of modestly populated grids and forms. This seems to happen in all Webkit browsers in certain situations.

Firefox 3.5 is definitely quicker than 3.0, but still (in my experience) loses out to Chrome in most areas.

it's not as fast as chrome, but a welcomed improvement over 3.0
